Hello!

My name is Merve Şimşek and I am a Turkish and European Patent Attorney. 

My background is in chemistry and since 2009, I worked as an intellectual property consultant in a national pharmaceutical company and R&D centers of universities. Due to my experience in the area of life sciences, I support my clients mainly in the area of chemistry, materials science, pharmaceuticals, polymer science and so on.

Since 2016, I am working as a freelance patent attorney. My experience with my clients who are entrepreneurs and/or scientists showed me that, often intellectual property applications and processes might seem like a labyrinth, complicated and difficult maneuver. I can definitely relate to this feeling since I also transitioned from science to intellectual property area after my masters in Chemistry. In my practive, I bring both a business perspective and a wealth of experience in intellectual property matters to the table. I'm passionate about demystifying the intricacies of these processes and guiding my clients step by step. I understand the nuances of the business world and the finer points of intellectual property.
